INSTALLATION

Q.  Is the WC difficult to install?
A. No. Even though a complete WC System includes several different parts (tanks, toilet, and chimney), the installation process is very straight forward. The parts are prepared with connections and hoses which makes it a plug-and-play installation procedure. The installation process can be followed in the Owner’s Manual.

Q. Can the vent pipe go out through the wall?
A. Yes. By adding a 90 degree vent piece, it is possible to route the vent out through the side of the house as well as going straight up through the roof.

Q. How much clearance does it need from the wall?
A. The WC incinerator needs at least 2” clearance from the wall. The tanks and toilets can be installed right next to the wall.

Q. How far can the waste holding tank be installed from the toilet?
A. The built in macerator pump in the toilet provided can pump up to 10ft in distance and 3ft above the floor. If the tank is installed below the toilet, the distance increases.

Q. How far can the WC incinerator be installed from the waste holding tank?
A. The waste pump can pump a distance of 10ft in distance and 3ft above the floor. If the WC is installed below the tank, the distance increases.

Q. Is it possible to install multiple toilets to one system?
A. Yes. This is one of the many advantages with the WC Systems. Installing several toilets to one system also becomes more cost effective.

OPERATION

Q. How is WC different from SR?
A. The SR model is a toilet that has the incinerator built into the toilet whereas the WC models use an incinerator unit that is separated away from the toilet and burns black water from a waste holding tank. A low-flush water toilet is required with the WC systems.

Q. How does the incineration process work?
A. The waste tank is equipped with a sensor that monitors the level in the tank. When a certain level in the tank is reached, a control board on the WC signals the incinerator to start up the burn process. A portion of black water is pumped into the WC incinerator. After a certain amount of time, the waste inside the burn chamber is then gone. This process continues until the waste holding tank is empty (or at a very low level). The WC then put itself in a standby mode. Once the level in the holding tank rises, the WC starts up its burning process again.

Q. Can the WC handle gray water (sink, shower etc)?
A. Yes, but be aware of the systems burning capacity. Calculate the amount of gray water that is consumed per day and then match the right size of WC.

Q. Can the toilet be used during its incineration process?
A. Yes. Since there is a waste holding tank between the toilet and the incinerator, the toilet can be used during incineration as long as the waste tank is not full. If the tank gets full, it will give a signal that the toilet shouldn’t be used (a light comes on) and one cannot flush the toilet until the level in the tank is lower again (optional feature).

Q. What controls the burn cycles?
A. The WC has a control board that is programmed to control the incineration process. If the unit is set it Automatic Mode, it will keep incinerating as long as there is sufficient black water in the waste holding tank.

Q. Is it possible to turn on and off the WC manually?
A. Yes. By switching the operating mode to Manual Mode instead of Automatic Mode, it is possible to start and stop the incineraton process manually. For example, if you don’t want to incinerate even though there is waste in the tank, simply switch the mode on the control panel and stop the burn.

Q. What differs betweem the various WC models?
A. The variuos WC models have various capacities, fuel sources, and power requirements. See details under technical info on the product page.

Q. Does the WC have to be placed indoors?
A. Yes. The WC incinerator should be placed inside a weatherproof building/structure so it is protected from rain/snow.

Q. Does it operate in colder climate?
A. Since the WC system operates with liquid and tanks, it only operates down to 32 degrees F. If it will be installed in an area where it gets colder than that, insulation or a heater is needed.

Q. Is there any unpleasant odor?
A. No. The WC’s unique design eliminates any septic odor.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

Q. How often do I need to clean out the ashes?
A. The WC is extremely efficient and requires very low maintenance. On average usage (in a 3-4 people household), the chamber needs to be cleaned out 1-2 times every six months.

Q. Is it difficult to empty the ashes?
A. No. Simply open the clean-out door on the incinerator, remove a cap, and then use a
ShopVac to vaccuum ou any sterile ash. The entire clean out process only takes a few minutes.
